    Description

This is a barn find. I was told it was a bolt on Mother in Law seat! I had never heard of such a thing. It must have been dreamt up by a guy! I just wiped the dust off and called it good. I will leave the deep cleaning to someone that knows what they are doing. The seat folds and is padded. It has a few indentations probably from something sitting on it for years. Pretty unique. I am not sure how this got bolted on but I would assume haphazardly (LOL). Here is a tidbit I copied from the internet:
Fun fact: Some old luxury cars could be had with a “Mother-in-Law seat”, which was a seat that slid out of the side of the car so you could take another person (such as your mother-in-law)
    with you,
without them technically being in the car. Despite the obvious brilliance of this idea, some pesky things like
safety regulations put a stop to it, which is why we can no longer enjoy the benefits of external seating.
This item measures 14 1/2" high, 13 1/2" wide at connection where seat folds down. The upper part of the seat has an area of extra padding. Then goes to leather. The seat portion of it is padded and measures 12" in depth x 13' wide. There is a bolt on one side but not the other. There is also a metal hardware piece on the bottom of the seat. Maybe that had a support bar attached to it? I saw some pictures on the internet where there was some sort of metal bar on the underside of the seat that attached to the running board. If you know, you can always message me and fill me in and I will gladly add it to my description.  No safety belts with this model (that's a joke!).
The leather is in pretty good shape considering its been in a barn. The back side of the seat back looks a little dried out and worn. Top of seat and back look pretty good. It has general wear from its age....also, I have no idea how old this is. It seems the ones I have seen were around 1915. If more pictures are needed just send me a message.
