Topgun was at NAS Miramar (Fightertown USA), first as a unit of VF-121, the F-4 Phantom RAG then a stand alone squadron.
Yep, only the best are selected to go through the course, the old Topscope and/or Topgun, now part of the curriculum at the Naval Aviation  Warfighting Development Center, Strike "U" at NAS Fallon, NV
