Here we have the lower unit for 1976-1985 Mercury 4, 4.5 and 7.5-9.8 hp outboards
,
applications below.
This lower unit is in good condition, it was removed from a running outboard that was only used in freshwater. This lower unit turns over smoothly and shifts correctly. It does need a water pump impeller, and the water pump housing is missing one of the fasteners. The gear lube was clean when we checked it, no water and no metal. This is a short shaft lower unit(15" transom), the driveshaft splines are in very nice shape. See pics. If you have any questions, or need to see additional pictures, please ask!
