For sale is the lower unit for Mercury 30-40 hp outboards,
applications below.
This lower unit is in good working condition, it was removed from a motor that was only used in freshwater. This lower unit turns over smoothly, and shifts correctly. The gear lube was clean when we checked it, no water and no metal. The water pump impeller is in good condition- it is a recent replacement. This is a SHORT-shaft lower unit(15" transoms), the driveshaft measures
~17 3/16" from the top of the water pump housing to the top of the driveshaft. The driveshaft has 14 splines, and the prop shaft has 13 splines. This is a very nice replacement lower unit, it is ready to bolt on and use. See pics.
